WIP: Space Hulk

Say hello to the first finished member of the slavering horde. He's a nasty looking piece of work isn't he?
.

I'm rather chuffed with the way it has turned out. The paint scheme is reasonably quick to complete and I think tone fits very well in the game, your worst nightmares lurking in the shadows.
I kept the blue on the carapace dark with only the stark contrast from the edge highlights to pick out the details. Then offset this with the softer tones in the purple of the skin, I also used the same colour from the final stage highlight on the skin for the tongue to tie the two together.
The claws have been kept simple, going from black, through grey, to white.
The metal is dark and dull, again using brighter edge highlights to pick out any details. Although I am looking forward to some of the bits of broken terminator and more interesting architecture on his brothers.
The drool coming off the tongue was created by glueing a small length of hair to the tip of said tongue and running a small amount of water effect down it. Et voila. (I might try blonde hair next time, the dark hair is bit obvious.) While we're on the subject, yes it's human hair, the wife's actually. I think next time i'll ask smallest Monkey for one of hers as she has very blonde very fine hair. Where appropriate, I'll try and use the effect on some of the other models.
On with the rest of them. Watch this space.

Peace
S

  1. Beautiful work. Reminds me very much of Mike Mcvey (sp?).
